ENSURING MODERNITY AND LIMITING IMPACT: THE DOUBLE CHALLENGE
The network of ski lifts in Les 3 Vallées is one of the destination’s main strengths. Efficient, high-performing and reliable, it guarantees easy and fast connections throughout the entire ski area. This winter, a large number of renovations and replacements of key lifts for the domain have been completed and inaugurated.
From the Olympe gondola in Brides-les-Bains to the Côte Brune gondola in Méribel-Mottaret, passing through the Chenus gondola in Courchevel, and the Face Nord in Val Thorens, these facilities, designed and built with full respect for environmental concerns, ensure mobility deeply rooted in the DNA of Les 3 Vallées.

Overview of the major renovations and constructions across the entire ski area. This winter, significant milestones have been reached in the development of the ski lift network of Les 3 Vallées. Projects with shared essential objectives: to offer skiers greater comfort, ensure smooth movement, and reduce environmental impact.
CHENUS REACHES NEW HEIGHTS WITH A PANORAMIC VIEWPOINT
n Courchevel 1850, the summit of Chenus will welcome a new space from winter 2026–2027, designed to offer a different way to experience the mountains. A 300 m² wooden terrace, facing due south, will provide visitors with a privileged spot to pause, take in the peaks and admire the Alpine panorama.
Accessible both on skis and on foot, this new viewpoint will offer the perfect place for a high-altitude break, with La Saulire and the surrounding peaks providing a spectacular backdrop. Designed for relaxation and contemplation, it invites visitors to extend their mountain experience beyond the slopes.
With this new addition, Courchevel further expands its range of experiences accessible to everyone, inviting visitors to slow down and enjoy the exceptional scenery of the French Alps.

LA TANIA GONDOLA WELCOMES A NEW GENERATION OF CABINS
In Courchevel La Tania, one of the main gateways to the ski area is being upgraded for the 2026–2027 season. The La Tania gondola will undergo a major €5 million renovation, designed to improve passenger comfort, accessibility and the overall performance of the lift.
The 52 existing cabins will be replaced by new panoramic 8-seater cabins, offering greater comfort and a fresh perspective on the surrounding scenery throughout the ascent. A significant upgrade for a lift that carries almost 400,000 passengers every winter.
The project has also been designed with resource efficiency in mind: rather than systematically replacing all the infrastructure, existing equipment will be retained and reused wherever possible, helping to limit the impact of the works.
The upgrade therefore combines experience, performance and environmental considerations, while enhancing one of the key gateways to Courchevel La Tania.

THE RHODOS GONDOLA
The final improvements include reorganising the platforms and façades, renovating the control room, and creating new toilet facilities and a dedicated area for ski schools. This transformation will provide visitors with greater comfort and more services, while also improving the lift’s operating conditions.

REOPENING OF THE CHÂTELET CHAIRLIFT IN MÉRIBEL-MOTTARET
In Méribel-Mottaret, the Châtelet detachable chairlift will return to service for the 2026–2027 season. Its reopening will restore a strategic link within the ski area and make it easier for skiers to travel between its different sectors.
The reopening forms part of the resort’s investment programme aimed at improving skier flow and comfort across the ski area.
THE PLATTIÈRES GONDOLA WELCOMES AN ARTWORK BY LUCAS BEAUFORT
For the 2026–2027 season, the Plattières gondola in Méribel-Mottaret will take on a new artistic identity created in collaboration with Lucas Beaufort, an internationally renowned French artist.
The project transforms the lift into an open-air canvas, accompanying visitors throughout their ascent. An initiative that places art and culture at the heart of the mountain experience.
UPGRADE OF THE SNOWMAKING SYSTEM ON THE TRUITE SLOPE IN MÉRIBEL
In Méribel, the snowmaking system on the Truite slope, a run particularly well suited to beginner skiers, is undergoing a major upgrade.
Led by Méribel Alpina, the project represents an investment of more than €3 million and includes the installation of a new generation of snowmaking equipment, designed to deliver greater performance while using less energy.
The new equipment will optimise snow coverage while reducing the system’s energy consumption.
NEW IMPROVEMENTS TO THE NIVEROLLE SLOPE IN MÉRIBEL-MOTTARET
On the Pas du Lac side of Méribel-Mottaret, the Niverolle slope has been reprofiled and equipped with a snowmaking system.
These improvements are designed to provide more consistent snow coverage throughout the season and enhance skiing comfort. The slope’s new profile will also offer skiers a smoother descent.
A NEW VISUAL IDENTITY FOR THE MÉRIBEL-MOTTARET SNOW PARK
For winter 2026–2027, the Méribel-Mottaret Snow Park is unveiling a new visual identity, complete with entirely redesigned signage.
The new design aims to make the different areas easier to identify and help riders find their way around, while reinforcing the identity of this dedicated freestyle area.
MÉRIBEL: NEW VISITOR FACILITIES AT LA CHAUDANNE
In Méribel, La Chaudanne, the main gateway to the ski area, is enhancing its visitor facilities with a new toilet blockand self-service ski pass machines.
These new services are designed to improve visitor comfort and ensure a smoother experience before accessing the ski lifts, particularly during peak periods.
IN SAINT-MARTIN-DE-BELLEVILLE
AN UPGRADED BEGINNER AREA IN SAINT-MARTIN-DE-BELLEVILLE
Located in the heart of the beginner area, this new facility has been designed to make those first experiences on skis easier, with:
- more comfortable access,
- smoother and safer access.
This modernisation will enhance the quality of Saint-Martin-de-Belleville’s facilities for beginners and families, providing an even better environment in which to learn to ski.
MORE THAN €7 MILLION INVESTED IN THE BELLEVILLE VALLEY SNOWMAKING NETWORK
Les Menuires and Saint-Martin-de-Belleville are continuing to modernise their ski area with an investment programme of more than €7 million dedicated to developing and improving the snowmaking network.
The work is designed to enhance snow reliability and maintain high-quality skiing conditions throughout the season. The investment also contributes to adapting the ski area to changing climate conditions and supporting its long-term operation.
LES MENUIRES: A NEW LEARNING AREA AT THE TOP OF ROC 1
In Les Menuires, a new area for beginner skiers is being created at the top of the Roc 1 gondola.
Designed to make learning and progression easier, this dedicated area features a free-to-use magic carpet. It gives beginners the opportunity to practise their first turns in a suitable environment before gradually progressing onto the ski area’s other slopes.
NEW FEATURES IN LES MENUIRES’ FUN ZONES
The La Montagnette and Pixel Area fun zones are being enhanced with new features for the 2026–2027 season.
Designed for both children and adults, these additions expand the experiences available across the two areas, offering even more ways to enjoy the slopes through accessible courses in a fun, family-friendly setting.
A NEW PHOTO EXPERIENCE ON THE PEYRON CHAIRLIFT IN ORELLE
This winter, the Peyron chairlift in Orelle is introducing an automatic photo system, giving skiers a new way to capture a souvenir of their time in the ski area.
Installed close to the top station, the system automatically photographs skiers just before they leave the chairlift. The pictures are then available free of charge at the exit, using either a ski pass or an email address.
A new service that gives visitors a memorable snapshot of their day on the slopes, to share with family and friends.
ITINEMAP: LES 3 VALLÉES AT YOUR SKI TIPS
With Itinemap, the new smart feature in the Les 3 Vallées mobile app, skiers can now find their way around and plan their day on the slopes more easily.
Its interactive map and route planner suggest the itinerary best suited to each skier’s ability, destination and current conditions across the ski area. Recommendations are updated in real time according to piste and lift openings, as well as operating conditions.
Whether heading to a mountain restaurant, meeting up with friends and family, crossing into another valley or discovering a new sector, Itinemap guides skiers every step of the way. Tailor-made navigation for exploring the world’s largest ski area with greater ease and peace of mind – and less time spent finding the way.
Val-Thorens
A SECOND AUTONOMOUS DRONE TO ENHANCE MOUNTAIN SAFETY
Equipped with an autonomous docking station and operated remotely, the new drone complements the system installed last winter in the Lac du Lou sector, a vast and particularly popular off-piste area.
This technology strengthens monitoring in sensitive areas and enables teams to respond more quickly, alongside the existing safety measures. This innovation demonstrates how new technologies can support mountain risk prevention.
