From villages to summits, winter sets the pace in Les 3 Vallées. Here, the mountains become the stage for major events, where thrilling sporting action meets the vibrant atmosphere of the resorts and the richness of Alpine traditions. Throughout the season, the region comes alive with competitions, events and highlights on the slopes and in the villages: sporting feats on snow, high-altitude starts, mountain-top shows, festivals, traditions and shared experiences.
Alpine skiing, freeride, outdoor events… one highlight follows another, revealing every facet of the world’s largest ski area. Meanwhile, the villages come alive, traditions endure and the Alpine art of living is shared throughout the winter. It is an intense and varied season, moving from a starting line to a celebration, from a summit to a memorable encounter, always inspired by what defines the identity of Les 3 Vallées: a region whose landscapes are as extraordinary as the emotions it inspires.
From the Freeride World Tour and the Alpine World Ski Championships to the 2030 Olympic Winter Games, Les 3 Vallées confirms its status as the ultimate playground for winter sports enthusiasts and the stage for the greatest events in the mountains.

Courchevel 80 Celebration
Courchevel
On the opening day of the season, Courchevel will officially launch its 80th anniversary celebrations with a major event at the Forum Ice Rink. Bringing together local residents, athletes, associations and institutional partners, this landmark evening will celebrate the resort’s history while looking firmly towards the future.
Inspired by the spirit of major international ceremonies, the evening will combine artistic creations, live performances, immersive staging and contributions from public figures. A special tribute will retrace Courchevel’s remarkable journey, from the pioneers of the Alpine pastures to the creation of the S3V, notably through the screening of the anniversary film produced by Night Session.
The evening will also provide an opportunity to unveil the Courchevel 80 coffee-table book, created with Éditions de La Martinière, as well as the intergenerational SUPER-Game, both presented for the first time.
Less than four years before the French Alps 2030 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games, this celebration will open a new chapter in Courchevel’s history, looking towards a sustainable, welcoming mountain destination shaped by the aspirations of future generations.

Ski Cross World Cup

From 7 to 12 December 2026, Val Thorens will host another stage of the Ski Cross World Cup. The world’s leading athletes will come together on the resort’s slopes to compete in one of skiing’s most spectacular disciplines, combining speed, technical skill and commitment in every run.
A major early-season event that reaffirms Val Thorens’ position among the leading international destinations for competitive skiing.

Women’s Alpine Skiing World Cup

On 22 December, Courchevel will once again experience the excitement of the Women’s Alpine Skiing World Cup. This major sporting event will bring together the world’s leading female skiers, reaffirming the resort’s position among the great international stages of Alpine skiing.

Freeride World Tour in Val Thorens
The world’s top extreme skiers and snowboarders will take on the untouched slopes of the highest resort in Les 3 Vallées, offering a one-of-a-kind show blending skill, audacity and pure adrenaline!
From January 24 to 30. La Pointe de Thorens is once again a potential face, as is Cime Caron, but the face, timings and competition day will be decided 48 hours in advance, within the weather window.

Complètement à la Masse
Les Menuires
On 20 March 2027, Complètement à la Masse will challenge participants to take on a unique 5 km downhill course with 1,000 metres of vertical drop.

Yogiski Week
Les Menuires
From 4 to 9 April 2027, Yogiski Week will bring together yoga, skiing and wellness at 1,850 metres above sea level.
Highlights include first-track yoga at 2,800 metres, cold yoga, yoga hikes, sound baths, Ayurveda, Tai Chi, reflexology and candlelit yin yoga. A week designed to experience the mountains differently, combining skiing, relaxation and high-altitude wellness.

75th Challenge des Moniteurs
Méribel
From 12 to 17 April 2027, Méribel will host the 75th edition of the Challenge des Moniteurs, an iconic event bringing together instructors from the Écoles du Ski Français (ESF) for a week of competition and shared experiences.
Méribel and the Challenge des Moniteurs share a long history. The very first edition of the event was held here in 1951. Since then, the resort has hosted the Challenge on four further occasions, in 1961, 1987, 2000 and 2006.
In 2027, the Challenge’s return to Méribel will take on a particularly symbolic dimension: its 75th edition will coincide with the 80th anniversary of the Méribel ESF. A double anniversary celebrating a history closely intertwined with French skiing and reaffirming Méribel’s place as a destination shaped by knowledge-sharing, competition and a passion for the mountains.

An Anniversary Told Through Film
Courchevel
To mark its 80th anniversary, S3V has chosen documentary film to tell its story. A 52-minute film, produced with Montagne TV, follows three major timelines: the past, from the pioneers and creation of S3V to the first milestones in its development; the present, through its professions, teams and expertise; and the future, focusing on environmental commitments, innovation and responses to climate challenges.
The main film is accompanied by eight thematic episodes highlighting the different areas of expertise within S3V, as well as shorter formats and teasers designed notably for social media.

French Alps Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games
Courchevel
In 2030, Courchevel will host several events as part of the French Alps 2030 Olympic Winter Games.
The resort will notably host the men’s and women’s Alpine skiing speed events, including the Downhill and Super-G, as well as several ski jumping events for men, women and teams, across both the normal and large hills.
A historic occasion that will place Courchevel and Les 3 Vallées at the heart of the world’s greatest winter sports event.
From sporting challenges and village celebrations to cultural events, every date is another reason to turn your gaze towards the peaks. Next stop: Les 3 Vallées.
